various situations, time or money doesn't allow the pampering of parlor's
color. In that case, formulations of hair colors are both easy and
affordable to use at home.
Preparation
The first step involves healthy and deep conditioning of hair. Then a
couple of days after shampooing, apply natural oils to scalp time to rise
up. It'll help in protecting the skin from any chemical reactions, help the
hair color to set better, and impart more uniform results overall.
Wear an old t-shirt and collect some older towels and washcloths. Use some
hair clips for segmenting of hair. Sectioning should be done before you have
to handle your hair in one hand and an applier bottle in the other. Take a
hand mirror so that you can see the back of your head. While you wait, take
some time to know the density of your hair.
Special hair coloring tips :-
Long hair
For coloring long hairs at home, it is better to call one of your friend to
help you. If your hair is thick as well as long, divide it in sections
before coloring. Now start applying color in the mid-lengths of long hair
and work the color up to the roots and down to ends. The ends of long hair
are more poriferous than the rest of the hair lance.
Natural waves and colors
Hairdressers generally advise not to use permanent hair color on naturally
curled or wavy hair. Any type of chemical treatment can impact natural curly
or wavy hair. If your hair is already dry because of straightening, the
addition of more chemicals can result in worse situation. In addition,
semi-permanent colors give you ampler color that won't fade like permanent
color does.
Gray hair
Hair turns gray or white when the hair quills lose pigment. These quills
tend to be harsher and less porous, making it more difficult to set hair
color. Softening of gray hair is required before coloring with a special
softening shampoo or developer. Always choose a color at least one shade
darker than the expected effect. Leave the hair color on your hair for at
least 35 minutes for a better result.
Deep conditioning
Conditioning is necessary to restore moisture and shine to color treated
hair at least every two weeks. When roots grow out, a color enhancing
softener will assist natural hair color blend with your color treated hair.
Always blot your hair dry after shampooing. Don't rub hair dry or wrap it
in a close turban. While practicing a blow dryer, dry your head, not your
hair. Hair dryer should not be used frequently, because it may result in
rough quality of hair. We should never use a brush on wet hair.
All conditioners often incorporate sunscreen and help protect your hair
color from fading.
Wetting hairs with stored spring water helps to shield it from the rough
chemicals of swimming pool.
Hair color to a tea
In order to add a special shine to dark hair, prepare a cup of strong dark
tea and apply it as a final wash after shampooing. A cup of strong chamomile
tea sprayed all over the blond or light brown hair will contribute an
additional highlight.
Coffee hair color
You can perk up your black or brown hair with a strong cup of dark grind
espresso or coffee. Brew, cool and add it to your dry hair after coloring
and wash it after 30 minutes.
Sparkle your hair
Use walnuts to add sparkle to dark hair. Chop walnuts, boil it in one cup
of water. Cool, strain, and pour on your hair after coloring.
Put some punch in your hair color
In oder to lighten your hair color, you can add lemon juice to it. Using
half cup of cranberry juice after shampooing as a final rinse and this will
give a lift to red hair and add subtle red highlights to your dark colored
hair.
